Why would they Deny and delay safe, clean, affordable water?

For too long community public water systems have struggled to manage every day operations and services while striving to maintain and repair aging infrastructure.

With concerns of the  dire effects of the Mega Drought we are now experiencing 2022.  We now need to more than ever address New Mexico’s aging water and sewer infrastructure.

With water losses of up to 50% here in New Mexico with an average of 25% water loss in most community public water systems that cost taxpayers “through capital outlay “ more in continual repairs and maintenance .  It’s time to make water first again.  Every state except Wyoming is a primacy state which means water comes first above all else.  For decades water has not been shown to be defined as primacy but dead last in the priority list of Governing Bodies.  As of recently in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill only 55 billion from the 550 Billion from the Bipartisan infrastructure law is going to water where you can clearly see water doesn’t come first when Broadband received 65 billion .  Water is life and we need to fight for our rights to live in a community where our basic rights are upheld.  Safe clean affordable water needs to be every political candidates priority.

Local control by elected offices should be the future of community public water systems not some newly formed quasi government in 18 new regions  within New Mexico boarders that overlap some of the 33 counties and takes away the powers and control away from local and county governments.

All our voices should be heard by elected officials in making sure  tax payers money is being responsibly  used in updating failing aging infrastructure and not wasted in hundreds of millions of dollars in overpaid invoices.
